Bartering – a great way to save for your wedding
December 10th, 2008If you or your spouse happen to be in a position to offer something for a barter, this can be a great way to save money for a wedding. For example, my husband owns a webdevelopment company, so he created a new website for our DJ in exchange for free service.
Another example would be if you get “freebies” at your job–for example my sister in-law works at the Apple Store and frequently wins really cool Apple or other store gifts. This would be something that you could offer to your vendors in exchange for a discount or (where applicable) free service.
Remember, don’t be afraid to negotiate. At the end of the day your vendors are business people and they want to earn your business.
